Bachelor Wing of Drinkwater

Bachelor Wing originally lived in Sandwich, on property that was originally part of his father’s estate. Daniel Wing mentions his son Bachelor in his will, “excepting” Bachelor’s house from a gift of his lands to his younger son Jashub, and bequeathing Bachelor 25 pounds. It seems evident from this that Bachelor had built himself a house upon his father’s lands in Sandwich and was probably married at that time. The town records of Sandwich mention the birth of two children born to Bachelor and Joanna Wing, viz: Ebenezer, born Nov. 20, 1694, and [Sylvanus], born Oct. 10, 1697. (Owl JUN 1915, p. 1457)  ??

Bachelor Wing (c1700 – 1740)

Sometime about the year 1699-1700, Bachelor Wing removed to Scituate, in Plymouth County, from the territory of which the towns of Hanover and Abington were organized June 7, 1727. …

Bachelor Wing and his descendants lived at a place called Drinkwater in the westerly part of Hanover. Between Hanson and Hanover, the bridge over the stream known as Drinkwater River, was where Jeremiah Hatch, the brother of Joanna Wing, had a mill, and the bridge was formerly known as “Hatch’s Bridge,” now “Teague’s Bridge.” (Owl JUN 1915, p. 1457)??
